Default Virgin nets a key deal with Disney’s ESPN

Now that ESPN has Setanta's Premier League football, Virgin Media is moving in to close their gap with Sky, after ESPN agreed to a carriage deal with Virgin Media.

ESPN is merely filling in what Setanta has left. I think that Setanta's absence is really being felt.

So that means Virgin subscribers will be able to watch 46 live matches for free. That is if they get Virgin's most expensive package.

There is an extra for Virgin too as ESPN will also show Scottish matches

If you don't have the required plan, you can add ESPN for about £10 per month.

That £10 charge goes for those who do not have Sky Sports. If you do have Sky Sports, you only need to pay £8 a month.

But Virgin is still cheaper. If you don't have Sky sports, that will cost you £12 for ESPN on Sky.

BT Vision still has not added ESPN yet, but I think it will, and very soon, especially if Ofcom gets it way and forces Sky to share their content at a fixed predetermined price
