Default Sales merger talks up for Sky and Channel 4?

BSkyB and Channel 4 are reportedly in talks for a possible merger of their advertising sales teams. The merger is seen to result in millions of pounds in savings for both broadcasters.

this will put Sky in a better position to compete with ITV, on the other hand, C4 will surely benefit from the cost savings! ITV currently has 41% of the advertising market.

I don't think so, Sky and C4 combined will have a smaller advertising market share than ITV!

It does seem that sky is imitating the BBC on this one. If you remember C4 is also in similar talks with BBC...

Well, one thing's for sure, this won't be an easy plan to implement. I've already heard of a lot of schemes, including one that involves the merging of C4's digital channels with BBC Worldwide. I guess the complexity is what drove both C4 and the BBC away from the deal.
