Sky has reported that there were 172,000 new subscribers for the last quarter, bringing the total number of Sky subscribers to 9.7 million. That's a good start towards the 10 million they targeted this year.

Yes, and as has been expected, HD was a good driver for this growth. They said that HD subscribers rose to more than 2 million in the quarter, while 6.5 million homes have Sky+ with an HD DVR.

That's right. HD has been Sky's saving factor. In fact, the company's average revenue for each subscriber is 11% more than the previous year at GBP492, while customer churn has decreased to 9.6%.

Well we kinda expected that didn't we? I think Sky is probably the only success story from last year

Even Nintendo sales fell year-on-year.
