Sky is currently building a high tech HD production control room that is going to be around a new Grass Valley Kayenne Video Production Center and two Grass Valley K2 Summit Production Client servers.

I'd say, they'd be the first news channel to broadcast in HD!

Sky News is also said to be building a new production studio that will make use of 12 new Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam multiformat HD cameras. It seems that Sky News is getting some real good refurbishing.

I think that they are going to use these HD equipment for the general elections.

Sky News Head Jon Bennett said as much. They wanted to make sure that the equipment they had was the right equipment. And because equipment from Grass Valley proved to be ok in the past, they are going ahead with it.

Again, I am amazed at how innovative Sky is getting. They really deserve that most admired company award.
