I know that the technology is ready. With Philips being at the forefront. Sadly Philips bowed out of the 3D industry by closing its WowVX business!

Taiwan's government has funded the research that goes into the 3D TVs. And they have already licensed the technology to Taiwanese companies.

For a start, it will be, but it will soon find its way to LCD TVs :)
Yes, that is because there are still some issues that needs to be ironed out with the new screens. I've heard that they were able to create a 56 in display using the new technology, but the colors were dull.

Taiwan has been at the forefront of 3D capable screens. I think they already have mobile phone and computer screens that you can view 3D on with special glasses on. And now this!

What's more these Taiwanese 3D Tvs are not much more expensive than the current regular LCD screens that we have.
