If you find other Freeview PVRs expensive, then you might want to look at 3View's new Freeview HD PVR. It's priced rather reasonably, especially if you compare it with other brands like Panasonic or Sony.

I've never heard of this brand.

Well, yeah. 3View is a little known brand, but their PVR is said to use the same technology and hardware as other more popular brand names.

What are the specs?

Well, the specs are respectable. 3View has a 320/500 GB hard drive. And you can record a program while watching another. I agree that they have roughly the same hardware as known brands, their tuners are from Sony :) Plus 3View's PVR has the iPlayer built in and you can also check your Facebook and Twitter accounts with it.

Hmmmn... sounds like a good PVR, but is it durable?

Well, we just have to wait and find out. But I'm betting it's a good buy.

I'm betting it's a good buy too. But we can never really know for sure unless we know someone who's bought it and it last five years with no hitches.

In any case, having a known brand doesn't really guarantee durability. My mate bought this Panasonic HDTV and it conked out on him after the first week. Good thing that thing was still under warranty!

Hmmmn... from the sound of it, it could have been a factory defect. Panasonic is a good brand.

I agree and even good brands are not perfect :)
