The cartoon classic, Popeye, is going to get 3D treatment very soon. According to a report in Variety, Sony is coming up with the 3D spinach movie. Variety notes that this is the first big screen film for Popeye since the 1980s when Robert Altman directed Shelley Duvall and Robin Williams as Olive Oyl and Popeye.

Wow, I think I am more excited about this than I was with Alice 3D. Great that they are working on the film with Avi Arad.

I love the cat and mouse routine between Popeye and Bluto. It's like a grown up version of Tom and Jerry
